Cork sisters discuss transgender journey on British TV
Chloe and Jamie O’Herlihy appeared on ITV's This Morning with their mum Sarah to talk about their transition.
Sarah told hosts Eamonn and Ruth that she didn't have an issue when her daughters told her they were transgender because she gave birth to two beautiful babies and "they're still my children".
Both Chloe and Jamie discussed the transitioning period, talking about having to get a psych evaluation before moving on to Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT).
They said they were excited to start the HRT.
"You're dragging around this body you don't want to drag around. It gets really really tiring and kind of depressing," said Jamie.
"I think once we start the HRT, we'll start noticing the differences and going through that female puberty is going to be really really exciting."
Mum Sarah also said she hasn't been reluctant to accept the change.
"It's not been a reluctant acceptance, no. They're my children and I love them to bits. I love them more than anything or anyone in the world."
