JOBSEEKING young farmers can avail of a useful new online handbook on the Macra na Feirme website that will help enhance their career prospects.
Written by Fidelma Wallace and Liam Horan of Galway-based career guidance company Sli Nua Careers, Macra’s free e-book gives practical advice for those seeking work, or hoping to climb the career ladder.
Macra na Feirme national president Michael Gowing said: "I am delighted that Macra has this opportunity to support our members in their efforts to gain employment by distributing this comprehensive handbook. The personal development of members is a central goal of Macra. We also support members through our training weekends and leadership awards."
Posted on the www.macra.ie site, the service was launched by Brian Purcell, a judge on TV3 series The Apprentice.
Brian Purcell said: "The future of our economy lies in the rural heartlands of Ireland. The fact that we are already world leaders in the food and agri-business sectors proves this, but I think we are only scratching our potential here."
