Zuckerberg to give away 99% of Facebook fortune
Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan have said they will give away 99% of their $45bn fortune to charity.
They made the pledge as they announced the birth of their baby girl Max.
In an open letter to her, they wrote about creating a better world for their daughter - and all children.
Sky's US Correspondent Amanda Walker has said it will go down in history as one of the most generous charitable pledges: âHe joins the ranks now of Warren Buffett, Bill and Melinda Gates,
âAnd it is all part of this giving pledge founded by Bill Gates, which is aimed at the worldâs wealthiest giving a huge portion of their fortunes.â
CNN Digital Correspondent, Paul R La Monica, says Zuckerberg has changed a lot in recent years:âItâs a stark contrast to the way that many people probably still perceive him from that movie a few years ago, The Social Network,
âThis is not the Mark Zuckerberg of that movie, by any stretch of the imagination, this is a grown up, mature, very savvy individual, who is doing good and wants to do more good with the massive amounts of wealth he has from Facebook.â
