London to test 'sobriety bracelets' for drink-related offences

In Britain, criminals who are convicted of serious drink-related offences will be fitted with American-style "sobriety bracelets" to keep them dry, under a pilot scheme.

Alcohol intake will be monitored by the electronic tags, which have been worn by Hollywood actress Lindsay Lohan.

They may be tested in London from this summer.

London's City Hall has said anyone continuing to drink will be arrested and brought before a judge.
