EasyJet trial technology to fly through ash clouds

New technology could prevent air travel disruption caused by ash clouds in the future.
No frills carrier EasyJet has said it has successfully trialled new technology, called AVOID (Airborne Volcanic Object Imaging Detector), that will allow planes to fly through ash clouds by using infra-red cameras.
Doctor Fred Prata, who invented the new technology, has said it could have kept flights running during last year's Icelandic ash cloud.
