Diet version of soft drinks linked to diabetes increase
Diet versions of soft drinks are being linked to a increased risk of Type 2 diabetes.
A long-term study conducted in France involved more than 66,000 women whose health was monitored over a 14-year period.
The researchers found the women who drank "light" sodas tended to drink more of it - 2.8 glasses a week on average, compared to 1.6 glasses among women on "regular" sodas.
They also pointed out that obese people were more likely than thin ones to drink artificially sweetened drinks.
