12 killed as truck and bus collide in Thailand
Twelve people were killed when a pick-up truck filled with travellers and a bus were in collision in north-eastern Thailand, news reports said.
The Bangkok Post newspaper said 12 people in the pick-up died at the scene in Buriram province, about 250 miles (400km) north-east of Bangkok.
It said four others were seriously injured - one in the pick-up truck and three in the bus.
Thailand's government news service reported that 94 people died in traffic accidents throughout the country on Thursday and Friday, the first two days of the week-long New Year holiday.
The Road Safety Centre said drunk driving was the most common cause of the accidents.
