Republic of Ireland fans paid tribute to Northern Ireland fan Darren Rodgers, who died in Nice yesterday, during their 1-1 draw with Sweden at Euro 2016 this afternoon.

Rodgers, 24, died after he fell over a barrier at the seaside promenade and went through the roof of the Castel Plage Restaurant.

Northern Ireland fans are planning to remember Rodgers at their next game of the tournament, when they face Ukraine on Thursday in Lyon.

In a show of solidarity with fans from the North, Ireland fans rose to their feet during the 24th minute and sang ‘Stand Up For The Ulstermen’ in memory of Darren after a plan was formulated on social media.
