Sligo earn draw at Fingal

Padraig Amond hit a delightful equaliser as Sligo came from behind to earn a point at Morton Stadium in this repeat of last season’s FAI Ford Cup final.

Gary O’Neill, who scored the late winner at Tallaght Stadium in November, shot Sporting in front on 53 minutes after twice turning Sligo defender Alan Keane.

But Amond scored an equally brilliant leveller five minutes later when dispossessing home skipper Stephen Paisley onto Iarfhlaith Davoren’s pass to nonchalantly sweep the ball past Brendan Clarke.
