Mister Top Notch is sidelined for the rest of the campaign following his run at Navan earlier this month.

The 10-year-old finished a distant last of five behind Aitmatov after being remounted following a fall at the second last in the Lismullen Hurdle.

“He’s ruled out of the season,” said trainer Davy Fitzgerald.

Mister Top Notch, winner of the 2007 Grade One Dr P J Moriarty Novice Chase and last winter’s Pierse Leopardstown Handicap Chase, had been as short as 20-1 with some firms for the Hennessy Gold Cup at Newbury on Saturday week.
