Kinnear gets to work after Newcastle finally confirm appointment

Joe Kinnear will begin work in earnest today after meeting Newcastle boss Alan Pardew to discuss the way forward.

The 66-year-old was confirmed as the club’s new director of football yesterday, almost 48 hours after he had revealed he was heading back to St James’ Park, where he had six months as manager during the 2008-09 season.
