Haye: I'll only return for Vitali fight

David Haye insists only a fight against WBC world heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko will tempt him back into the ring.

Haye has rejected the possibility of meeting rising British star David Price, who knocked out Audley Harrison in 82 seconds on Saturday night.

Instead, the 32-year-old says that his July victory over Dereck Chisora was his last domestic showdown as he targets a legacy-saving win over a Klitschko.

Vitali, at 41 the elder Klitschko brother, is standing for election to Ukraine's parliament in 10 days and his future plans are uncertain.

But Haye, who lost a wide points decision to Wladimir last year, is convinced Vitali he will want to fight again.

"I'm only going to face someone whose name is Klitschko. I've had my domestic dust-ups," he said. "In my opinion next year he (Vitali) will want to fight again at some stage and he will want a big fight.

"I'm the biggest fight out there and he knows that, he's not stupid. The WBC are happy for me to fight him, they know I'm the only guy out there to challenge him.

"What's fighting more guys like Manuel Charr going to do for him? He's never had a superfight. The biggest fight he had was at two weeks' notice against Lennox Lewis and he lost that.

"Other than that he's never had any big fights, only fighting opponents that people know he could never lose to.

"I really smash my body up in training to make a fight easy and I wouldn't want to do that for anything other than the richest prize in sport.

"For the WBC title I will punish myself and do what I have to do. Other than that I can't be bothered."

Haye's Hayemaker stablemate George Groves is braced for the toughest assignment of his 15-fight career when he meets Jamaican veteran Glen Johnson at the ExCel Arena on December 15.

Former IBF world light-heavyweight champion Johnson has lost 17 of his 51 fights, but his record includes victories over Roy Jones, Allan Green and Antonio Tarver.

While Johnson is a dangerous opponent, Groves is looking ahead to a domestic showdown against Carl Froch.

"The Froch fight is a fight that I'd love because it's two Brits," he said. "Everyone loves two Brits fighting and that could be an absolutely huge fight.

"But Carl's at a stage in his career where he wants to fight big names and I'm not a big name yet."
