Gowran blown away

This afternoon’s National Hunt meeting at Gowran has been abandoned due to high winds.

Although the fixture survived a morning inspection, called due to the threat of waterlogging, the County Kilkenny venue has been declared unsafe for racing.

Cliff Noone, Irish Turf Club press officer, said: “The track is perfectly raceable, but the high winds have got stronger. The meeting has therefore been called off in the interests of safety.”
