Four to debut for Wexford as Horan returns for Offaly
Wexford manager Liam Dunne and his Offaly counterpart Ollie Baker have selected their teams for Saturday's Leinster SHC quarter-final at O'Connor Park (throw-in 7pm).
Wexford will field four Championship debutants including Willie Devereux and fellow corner back Stephen Murphy, the Tipperary native who plays for St. Martin's. The pair start alongside captain Keith Rossiter.
Shaun Murphy will make his first start at this level, partnering Diarmuid 'Gizzy' Lyng in midfield, while talented teenager Jack Guiney will be hoping to shine at full-forward.
It is a youthful, new-look selection from Dunne who can also call on some battle-hardened substitutes in former skipper Darren Stamp, Harry Kehoe and Stephen Banville.
Meanwhile, St. Rynagh's clubman Diarmuid Horan will return at right half-back for Offaly in this weekend's provincial opener.
With Horan's inclusion, Derek Morkan reverts to right corner back in a defence marshalled by captain David Kenny.
Baker had paired Kevin Brady and Conor Mahon together in centre-field, and the attacking onus will be on centre forward Joe Bergin and a full-forward line of Shane Dooley, Cathal Parlon and Brian Carroll.
Offaly finished third in Allianz League Division 1B this season, with the first of their two defeats coming in early March when Wexford beat them 3-18 to 2-20 at Wexford Park.
