Football League Division 3 Round-Up
Only scoring difference separates Longford, Roscommon and Antrim at the top of Division 3 of the Allianz Football League after round 2 wins for Antrim, Sligo and Roscommon.
Antrim made the long journey to Semple Stadium in Thurles worthwhile as they registered back-to-back wins by beating Tipperary by 1-13 to 0-13.
A first half goal from James Loughrey was the difference between the sides at the end of an entertaining 70 minutes.
The Saffrons led by 1-08 to 0-07 at the interval and continued to edge ahead on the restart, with Tomas McCann (0-5) the visitors' scorer-in-chief while Paddy Cunningham also impressed for Antrim with three points.
In one of the highest scoring encounters of the weekend, Sligo claimed a 4-14 to 1-17 victory over Wexford at Markievicz Park.
Adrian Marren was the hosts' hat-trick hero, finishing with a total of 3-05.
Marren signalled Sligo's early intent and netted the Yeats County's first goal from the penalty spot.
Another Marren goal coupled with an Alan Costello three-pointer propelled Sligo in to a 3-07 to 0-07 interval lead.
PJ Banville claimed Wexford's lone goal on the restart and although the Slaneysiders came back into contention, Marren completed his hat-trick in injury-time to complete a runaway win.
Roscommon turned in strong second half performance to gain their second win of the campaign.
They overcame Offaly on a 0-12 to 1-06 score-line at O'Connor Park in Tullamore.
The sides were tied at 0-05 apiece at half-time.
Offaly registered the only green flag of the contest on the restart, but Roscommon stood firm as Des Newton's charges secured two valuable league points.
