Sporting Fingal will be looking to bounce back from the narrow defeat to Bohemians last week as they entertain Sligo Rovers at the Morton Stadium tonight (kick-off 7.45pm).

Fingal must plan without Lorcan Fitzgerald as he has sustained a fractured cheekbone.

The incident occurred when the defender had an accidental collision with teammate Kenny Browne in last Friday's game and he will be sidelined for up to six weeks.

Sporting boss Liam Buckley said: "This is disappointing news for Lorcan and ourselves, especially following the manner of our defeat at Bohs.

"Lorcan showed great courage to play on and finish the game and we wish him a speedy recovery, hoping he returns to action as soon as possible.

"However, we have a hungry squad of players and whoever comes in to replace Lorcan for this Friday’s first home game of the campaign against Sligo Rovers is more than capable of doing a decent job."

For Sligo, Richie Ryan has picked up an ankle problem and will have a late fitness test ahead of the game, while midfielder Danny Ventre is struggling with a hamstring complaint.

Goalkeeper Richard Brush has a back problem, while striker Padraig Amond is also a doubt.

Rovers go into the clash on the back of an encouraging 1-1 draw in the Showgrounds with Shamrock Rovers in front of almost 3,000 supporters.

The last time the two teams met was in Tallaght Stadium when Fingal beat Sligo 2-1 to win the FAI Cup last November.
