The FAI has terminated Derry City’s contract to participate in the League of Ireland, it was announced tonight following talks at Abbotstown on the Candystripes’ premier division future.

In a statement, the FAI Board of Management said that Derry had failed to comply with the terms and conditions of the agreement, with the club having admitted to holding second illegitimate contracts with players.
