Woman found dead in Co Mayo

A woman, aged in her late 40s, has been found dead in Mayo this evening.

The body was found at a house in Ballycurrin near Glen Corrib, Co. Mayo.

The discovery was made when Emergency Services were called to the house at approximately 4.30pm. Gardaí in Claremorris are investigating the incident.

The woman’s body remains at the scene which has been preserved pending a forensic and technical examination.

The local Coroner and the Office of the State Pathologist have been notified.
