The community of West Dublin is being praised for its response to racist attacks on a family home.

Jane has spoken out about having racist graffiti sprayed on her window, and being forced to bring her young children to a friend's home in Donegal.

The tyres on her car have been slashed three times in recent weeks, and two men came and sprayed racist comments on the front of her house, in a series of attacks.

Cllr Gino Kenny: “distorted individuals” behind the attacks do not speak for the community.

Jane is now staying with a friend in Dublin.

Local Labour TD Robert Dowds says her neighbours are doing all they can to support the family:

"I was really shocked because she is clearly a woman who is quite well integrated into the community, she had lived there for some time," said Deputy Dowds.

"What I was really impressed by was the reaction of the neighbours who came out at a public meeting on the street on Saturday in support of her family."
