Viable bomb found in Kildare

A viable bomb has been discovered in county Kildare.

The Army Bomb Disposal Team was called to Athy this afternoon after a suspect device was found by a member of the public.

A number of residents were evacuated from the area and the device made safe.

A Garda investigation has been launched into the incident.
