Union to re-ballot members in Aer Lingus dispute

IMPACT says it will seek to re-ballot cabin crew at Aer Lingus on the company's €97m cost-cutting plan, which they rejected two weeks ago.
Aer Lingus has said it has noted the decision to re-ballot and will await the result.
The union said it now has "deeper clarification" about the €97m cost-cutting proposal and will meet with members on Monday with a view to holding another ballot.
Within days of cabin crew rejecting the cost reduction plan, the company announced it was terminating the contracts of all 1,200 cabin crew members, rehiring most of them for less money, and enforcing 230 compulsory redundancies.
Four of the other staff groupings at the airline have already accepted the proposals.
