Over 75% of Irish people feel they are more at risk of theft during these recessionary times.
The figures are revealed as part of the 2009 Eircom Phonewatch Burglary report which also indicates that 68% of people have become more security conscious in the recession, with security at home of greatest concern.
Between July last year and June this year, the report shows a national drop of 12.6% in the number of burglaries - but Kilkenny and Donegal have recorded a massive 94% increase..
