Study: Less well-off women more likely to be obese following pregnancy

Women who are less well-off are 42% more likely to be obese after giving birth.

The finding is part of a major study by UCD and the ESRI, which examined 10,000 mothers living in Ireland.

It has prompted a call for Government intervention, so that public health can be tailored to women in high risk groups.
