Ombudsman anxious about public sector recruitment moratorium

The Ombudsman for the Defence Forces, Paulyn Marrinan Quinn, has raised concerns over the moratorium on public sector recruitment.

Ms Marrinan Quinn said the ban is making it "increasingly difficult for redress to be offered to members of the Defence Forces".

According to the Ombudsman's annual report for 2010, 116 complaints were made last year, 37 of them related to selection or promotion procedures.
