The new Bishop of Cloyne has been ordained at St Colmans Cathedral in Cobh today.

Bishop William Crean told the congregation that he was renewing his commitment to continue the work of healing and reconciliation that is so necessary in the diocese, while acknowledging it will take time, understanding and patience.

Bishop Crean was appointed to replace Dr John Magee, who stepped down in 2010 after it was found he had not followed proper child protection procedures in the Cloyne diocese.
