Gardaí in Limerick have arrested a man after discovering firearms and ammunition at a house in Doon.

Gardaí in Limerick have arrested a man after discovering firearms and ammunition at a house in Doon.

Detectives from Roxboro Road searched a house and lands this afternoon as part of an ongoing operation against serious criminality.

Two shotguns, a stun gun and around 50 rounds of ammunition were found.

A man in his 30s was arrested and is being questioned at Roxboro Road Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.

He can be detained for up to three days without charge.
