"It was discovered that this was a suspicious death and since then a murder inquiry has been launched," he said.
Both men were farmers and it is understood they knew one another.

Gardaí in Listowel said they are investigating all of the circumstances.
The Garda Technical Bureau and the State Pathologist have been asked to attend the scene which was sealed off.
