President McAleese will visit Irish peacekeeping troops in Lebanon this weekend on her final trip abroad.

The President will visit Camp Shamrock, where she will present medals to 72 personnel who are on their first overseas mission.

She will also travel to Tibnin, where she will lay a wreath at a memorial in honour of 47 Irish soldiers who have lost their lives while on peace-keeping duties in the country.

President McAleese will be accompanied by the Minister for Justice Alan Shatter.
