A large fire has been brought under control by Cork City Fire Brigade at two industrial units near the city centre.

A large fire has been brought under control by Cork City Fire Brigade at two industrial units near the city centre.

Emergency services were alerted to the scene at Marina Park on Centre Park Road at around 1.50am this morning. Five units of Cork City Fire Brigade attended the scene. The fire was brought under control by 4am.

The industrial units are located at what was once the Dunlop tyre factory and include Ashton Linen, which is understood to have suffered extensive damage.

Five units of the fire brigade are still at the scene, and are expected to remain there for most of this morning.

Nobody was injured in the blaze.
