Labour supports cannabis legalisation

The Labour Party has joined Garda Commissioner Pat Byrne in calling for cannabis to be legalised for medical use.

Party spokesperson Liz McManus welcomed Mr Byrne’s support for the move.

She said cannabis-based treatments should be sanctioned for people suffering from illnesses like epilepsy and Multiple Sclerosis, but only under strict regulation.
