Ireland most expensive in EU for alcohol and tobacco
Ireland is the most expensive country in the Europe for alcohol and tobacco - at 178% the EU average.
That's according to figures from EuroStat shows that consumer prices here are the fifth-highest in the EU at 118% the average.
The cost of restaurants and hotels were also found to be well above the EU average at 128% - while clothing was the only area where Irish prices were below average - at 98%.
