Hundreds of teachers march on Department of Education

Hundreds of teachers are marching on Department of Education headquarters in Dublin, as part of the nationwide day of action by members of the public service.

Most council and Government-run offices have been closed, as 250,000 workers have taken to the picketlines ahead of next month's budget.

Schools and hospitals have also been badly affected, although workers in many flood-hit areas have deferred their industrial action.
