Gardaí investigate death of man hit by truck


Gardaí are today investigating the death of a man who was hit by a truck in Tipperary this morning.

It happened at 8.10am when the man was leaving his home in Thurles.

He got out of the oil truck he was driving to close a gate, but it is understood the vehicle then rolled and hit the 50-year-old.

He suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man's body has been removed to South Tipperary General Hospital in Clonmel, where a post mortem is expected to be carried out.
