Two local authorities have banned the use of hosepipes in an attempt to conserve water supplies.

Two local authorities have banned the use of hosepipes in an attempt to conserve water supplies.

Residents in Galway and in South Tipperary have been told they are not allowed to use the pipes, as temperatures are set to head back towards 30 degrees again this weekend.

Other councils are also urging the public to conserve water and not use it to maintain their lawns.
