Funding boost for Hook lighthouse

Some €150,000 to be invested in a number of projects at the world's oldest intact operational lighthouse on the Hook peninsula in Co Wexford.

The redevelopment will include restoring the cobbled yard area, and adding a raised viewing gantry and a movable outdoor performance stage.

The investment is provided under the Fáilte Ireland Capital Investment Programme and Hook Heritage.

Work on the projects will commence in May and is due to be completed by November.
