Dublin Archdiocese considers selling assets
The Dublin Archdiocese is considering selling off its assets to solve a financial crisis that is threatening to ruin it.
A combination of falling church collections and a €13.5m bill for abuse compensation has seen the diocese built up huge debts.
The archdiocese is now undertaking a root-and-branch review of its finances.
It is thought a proposal to introduce a levy for Catholic householders in Dublin could prove unpalatable.
