Cork flooded after overnight deluge
Parts of Cork city and county have been hit by serious flooding following overnight downpours.
Gardaí have said they have had a number of calls relating to flooding in people's homes, but there are no reports of any injuries so far.
The deluge began just after midnight, and lasted until 3am.
The worst of the flooding affected areas with normally inoffensive tributaries, which were turned into torrents.
In Blackpool, a number of homes and businesses have been flooded, while Douglas Village is under almost two feet of water and a number of residents of an estate in Ballyvolane have been trapped by floodwaters.
