Coast Guard issues wind warning
The Coast Guard service is warning people to stay away from cliff paths and other coastal areas as the country is battered by storm force winds.
Met Éireann's warning of gusts of up to 140 kilometres an hour as winds reach storm force 11 in some parts of the north east.
All Irish coastal areas are expected to experience strong gale or storm force winds.
The Coast Guard is advising the public not to venture out on exposed coasts, cliffs, piers, harbour walls, beaches or other coastal areas until conditions improve.
