ASTI to consider proposals aimed at ending industrial dispute

Senior members of the ASTI will meet later to examine new proposals aimed at ending their industrial dispute.

Hundreds of schools were closed earlier this month as part of a campaign of action.

A document hammered out in talks suggests changes such as narrowing the pay gap for new entrants and increased flexibility on working hours.

The union's standing committee is due to consider it today.
