Agencies warn more people in danger of falling into poverty trap

The Government is being warned that cutting social welfare payments will force more people into the poverty trap.

Anti-poverty agencies meet later at a social inclusion forum to discuss ways to help those who are marginalised in our society.

Spokesman for the European Anti-Poverty Agency Mark Byrne said 16% of the population is already deemed to be at risk of living in poverty
