Director: Steven Soderbergh
Cast: Matt Damon, Scott Bakula, Joel McHale
This is based on a true - and quite serious - story about corruption at a big corporation.
Matt Damon plays the inside man, Mark Whiteacre (a sterling performance from Damon, one of his best), in what is surprisingly and successfully played as a comedy.
It's a clever ploy since in spilling the beans on his price-fixing employers Whiteacre gets embroiled with the FBI investigators - terrific playing here from McHale and Bakula - and comes to think of himself as a genuine FBI agent.
The strength of the story lies in just how far Whiteacre believes his own stories and where this lead to.
