TD to Sinéad O'Connor: I hope you accept my apology

A Fine Gael TD has today apologised to singer Sinead O'Connor for comments he made about her mental health.
Alan Farrell admitted he should not have made the "mad as a brush" comment on Twitter on Friday night, during the singer's appearance on 'The Late Late Show'.
"I would like to apologise to you for any hurt that I have caused you by my remark on Twitter on Friday night," he said.
"I should not have said it, I have deleted the tweet and I hope you will accept my apology. I agree completely with what you said about the exploitation of young women."
Yesterday the singer published an open letter to the Dublin North TD criticising his comments.
