Five things we learned from Ed Sheeran’s Croke Park gigs

Were you one of the lucky 160,000 people that witnessed Ed Sheeran take to the stage of Croker over the weekend?

If so, you may be suffering from post-Ed blues this monday morning? Or maybe you just need a bit of cheering up?

Well, we’ve just the trick - we’ve decided to take the time to to reflect on what we learned from the Ed-cellent concerts.

1. The ginger-haired singer brings out the love in people.

Engagements, engagements, engagements everywhere.

Not only did Jason from Kodaline propose to his long-term girlfriend Etaoin Corr on stage in front of 80,000 people, Belfast native Ciaran Shortt proposed to his girlfriend Leanne Peoples while Ed sang ‘Thinking Out Loud’.

All the feels.

2. But it’s ok, he loves us too - “I love me some Ireland”

From having a puck around to singing hits from the Dubliners, we’d nearly claim him as our own.

His nan’s from Gorey in Wexford after all.

Looking well Ed, looking well.

3. He’s besties with Kodaline.

Not only did they make a guest appearance Friday night, they took to the stage Saturday night too.

Along with busting out The Auld Triangle with Glen Hansard, as you do. (See number 2.)

4. Croke Park looks amazing from above.

The Irish Air Corps took to Twitter to treat us with these spectacular photos of Croke Park from the sky.

Though Ed’s view wasn’t so bad either.

5. We’re not sure we can love him any more than we now do.

There’s no denying this man's talent; no bells, no whistles, no band - just Ed.
