Farmers body slams Coveney for 'ignoring lower paid farmers'

The United Farmers Association is criticising the Agriculture Minister Simon Coveney for not doing enough to protect lower earning farmers under the reform of the Common Agricultural Policy.

The criticism comes as farmers across the country attend a conference on the topic this afternoon.

MEP Jim Higgins will take part in discussions and offer an update on EU level CAP reform discussions taking place in Brussels.

Bertie Wall, President of the United Farmers Association, said Minister Coveney is ignoring the needs of lower paid farmers.
