Gay marriage not contrary to law of God

I couldn’t pass over the ignorance of Pat Lynch (Letters, Jul 5) when he declared gay marriage was contrary to the natural law, and the law of God.

In this day and age I think the law of God has long since been broken by its own hand, and the natural law is being redrawn to accommodate the natural order of each individual. Discrimination against gay people is as bad as racism, and a vote against gay marriage by our Government would show our country to be a vastly regressive society.

If Mr Lynch preoccupies himself with the law of God he will be aware the bible tells him to “Love thy neighbour as you love yourself”. It also says “Love must be sincere”, and I don’t see why someone like Mr Lynch feels he has the right to tell a gay couple that their love is not sincere.
