Slick Avondhu hold all the aces
As a result the north Cork division advance to the third round of the championship while Muskerry will have one more chance to extend their campaign against Cork IT in round two.
Avondhu, as well as having the greater scoring power, were also defensively strong, limiting their opponents to 1-4 from play. While they trailed 1-4 to 0-3 after the opening quarter – the Muskerry goal coming from corner forward Mark Cremin – they were thankful to the accuracy of their number 11 Peter O’Brien, whose first-half tally of six points contributed to a narrow, but deserved, 0-10 to 1-6 half time lead.
