Hughes to have talk with Anton

MARK HUGHES will speak with Anton Ferdinand this week to check he is ready to face John Terry in the fourth round clash.

It is their first meeting since the Chelsea captain was accused of racially abusing the QPR defender.

Terry will be in court the following Wednesday accused of a racially aggravated public order offence.

Hughes, admitting he will talk to Ferdinand ahead of the Loftus Road clash, said: “Only to get it clear in my own mind where everybody is with it. It would be silly not to do that.

“He’s not come to me and said, ’Gaffer, I need to speak to you about this situation’ so I don’t’ think it’s affected him at all to be perfectly honest.

“I don’t think it’s going to have any influence on my decision whether I pick him.”
