Fracking fear mongering

It appears that the debate on fracking has become laden with fear mongering and rumour.

The fact is hydraulic fracturing is a technology and, like all technologies, there are risks and benefits associated with its use. The focus in the debate should be on who uses the technology, what the best operating practice should be, the detail of the geological surveys required and what level of regulation the sector will need to ensure that the benefits are maximised while the risks are controlled. Road traffic is far more dangerous than this glorified rock blasting process.
