McMahon back to boost Clare in replay

MOIRA MCMAHON has recovered from a broken bone in her hand and will line out for Clare in today’s All-Ireland junior camogie championship final replay against Galway at O’Connor Park Tullamore.

The Banner are hoping to bridge a 17-year gap and lift their first junior title since 1986. They showed great spirit on September 21 in Croke Park to get an equalising goal from captain Catherine O'Loughlin.

A repeat performance from Deirdre Murphy could spell trouble for the maroon and white. Ironically Murphy plays her club camogie with Davitts the Galway side who are through to the All-Ireland club semi-final eight days later on October 19.

The westerners had superb displays from goalkeeper Susan Earner and Ann Marie Hayes while full forward Hayes from the Killimor club bagged two goals.

And with many of the side emerging from various underage county teams, this panel of players will be optimistic of bringing back the silverware after an absence of five years.
