FBI chases new lead for fugitive mobster

THE FBI is reportedly investigating a new lead in the search for fugitive Boston mobster James Whitey Bulger, who has been missing since 1995.

America’s NewsCenter 5’s Gail Huff reported that a businessman who knew Bulger in the early 1990s and worked out with him at the same gym reportedly saw Bulger in London, and the FBI in Boston said his story checks out. A British businessman Bulger met years ago alerted FBI agents.

He said Bulger, now 73, was sporting a gray goatee, his hair was white and was wearing square, horn-rimmed glasses.

The tip triggered a massive manhunt. A Boston crime task force and inspectors from New Scotland Yard scoured London hotels, internet cafes, and gyms in search of Bulger. They spent hours watching department store surveillance videos.

Attached to his picture is the promise of a $1m reward for help in locating him. The Lycos website’s operators estimate 118 million users across 43 countries have seen the pictures. He is on the FBI’s 10 Most Wanted List.
